The story…

A message from founder, Mel:

A while back, I was chatting with an athlete who joked, “I need so much physio for so many different issues—I could do with a monthly membership!” It was just a passing comment, but it stuck with me.

It reminded me of my own experiences with training—the number of times I’d fallen off the bandwagon mid-programme, wishing I could get professional guidance without committing to multiple ongoing sessions. I knew how frustrating it felt to need support yet not have a flexible way to get help along the way, and honestly, it’s part of what inspired me to become a physiotherapist in the first place.

Most physio clinics operate on a pay-per-session basis, with people only booking in when something goes wrong. But what about those who train hard, push their limits, and want ongoing support—not just injury treatment? Lifters, runners, and active individuals who know that staying on top of mobility, niggles, and performance tweaks is just as important as rehab?

That’s how Talk to a Physio was born.

My journey actually started in fitness, where I became really invested in improving my physical health and found enjoyment in strength training. But as I started taking it more seriously, I struggled with recovery and staying consistent. That’s the exact struggle I want to help others avoid.

At the time, I was working in telecommunications (digital marketing, to be exact) but decided to quit my job and retrain as a physiotherapist. Since qualifying in 2022, I’ve worked across several NHS hospitals in London, treating a wide range of conditions. I started at Homerton University Hospital in North London, then moved south of the river to work with Oxleas across the Greenwich and Bexley community.

Through this journey, I rediscovered my passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with a particular focus on sports injuries. Seeing firsthand how proactive care improves both recovery and performance, I wanted to create a space where physiotherapy is accessible, practical, and built around the needs of those who push their limits.

My goal is simple: to help people keep moving, training, and performing at their best.
